Wool and Prince Waffle Henley Review
The Wool & Prince Waffle Henley is a super soft and stylish henley that can keep you warm during the winter months, and comfortable for the rest of the year. This is my initial review of the merino wool shirt, after wearing it EVERY DAY for 2 weeks while traveling around Europe!
Note: If you’re interested, I also wore the Wool and Prince Stretch Canvas Pant every day on this trip as well - check out that review here.

Sizing / Fit & looks
Size
Size: Large
My height: 5’10”
Fit
I originally ordered a Medium but when I tried it on, it fit more like a Small. The shirt felt tight around the stomach area, allowing my mini beer belly to peek through more comfortably than I’d like. In addition, the length of the shirt fell just below my waist - if I raised my arms, you’d clearly see my belly button.
I really liked the fit of the Large - yes, it looks a bit baggy on me, but I didn’t mind because:
I like the look of looser fitting clothes on me in general
It conceals my mini beer belly and “love handles” better than the Medium
Its length keeps my waist area warm when traveling/moving around in colder conditions
If you’re stuck between sizes, note that the henley will stretch out over time - it definitely stretched out for me after 2 weeks!

Pros
Super duper soft: this is the softest-feeling shirt that I own - it’s really comfortable, stretchy, and kept me warm all trip long with my jacket
Quick drying: after sweating in the henley during adventure activities or running to catch a train transfer, it would dry up pretty quickly
Doesn’t hang on to odors: hang it up after a day’s use, and it’ll go back to smelling neutral the next day!
Cons
Pilling: After I returned home, I noticed the henley pilling in a few areas - all located in the back and backsides. I believe this is due to the henley’s everyday friction with my heavy camera bag and its various straps
Price: At $132, this is the most expensive henley that I own. I wish that it’d be more approachable in terms of price, but quality ain’t cheap!
Pilling on the henley from heavy friction with my camera bag
Conclusion
The Wool & Prince Waffle Henley is extremely soft, and being on the thicker side, quite cozy. It kept me warm, dry, and comfortable every day during my 2-week trip in Europe (in late October - early November) across 3 countries.
I’ll update this review with my long term thoughts in the future, but for now - despite minor pilling, I can still highly recommend this henley for traveling and everyday use during the fall and winter months.
I hope you found this review helpful. If you haven’t already, check out my video review linked earlier in this post - it’s full of beautiful scenery from Europe!
