Decathlon Forclaz MT100 (formerly Trek 100) Review

The Decathlon Forclaz MT100 (previously named Trek 100) Hooded Puffer Down Jacket is one of the best bang-for-your-buck down jackets in the market today because of its affordability, durability, packability, and warmth. This review covers my experience over one year of traveling with the jacket!

For a comparison between the Decathlon Trek 100 (2021) and Decathlon MT100 (2023) jackets, see this blog post.

The Decathlon Forclaz MT100 kept me warm in Prague! I’m 5’10” wearing a size Large

Pros

  • Durability: no major feather leakage, no bad zipper snagging

  • Packability: packs down into its own pocket

  • Warmth: kept me warm in low 30F degree temps (with layers)

  • Neck area: neck area goes up high, proving extra neck/face warmth

  • Doesn’t hang on to odors: hang it up after a day’s use, and it’ll be smelling like nothing the next day!

Cons

  • Neck area: because the neck area goes up high, it sometimes creates rubbing/friction on my lips/chin. Pulling the zipper down makes the flaps looks a bit odd, like wings (lol). See the YouTube review for more details on this! This isn’t really a con, because the high neck area is there to provide warmth - but it’s just something that I wanted to point out.

Conclusion

For $99.99, the Decathlon Forclaz MT100 a fantastic, quality down jacket option. Its durability (no major feather leakage, bad zipper snags, etc.) was the biggest PRO for me. This is an overall great lightweight and packable jacket that will keep you warm on travels, hikes, and any other adventures that you wish to bring it on.

I hope you found this review helpful!

Happy journeying,

Jeremy
